The cheap birkenstocks sandals are specifically designed to support your feet with a firm and supportive insole, and like premium mattresses, they are not designed for cushioning or softness.
Birkenstock footbeds are made of resilient cork/latex and are shaped to create a healthy walking environment for your feet. Additionally, the cork/latex blend is flexible and responds to natural body warmth. So, over time, the footbed succumbs to your single foot. Many long-term wearers of Birkenstocks find that the longer you wear them, the more comfortable they become.
The two main materials of Birkenstock sandals
Birko Flor® and Birkibuc are synthetic, durable, easy-to-clean leather alternatives developed by Birkenstock.
Birko Flor is made from soft acrylic and polyamide felt fibers with a durable, smooth, leather-like finish. Compared to leather, it’s still water resistant, but won’t scratch or fade, and doesn’t require a break-in period.
Birkibuc looks and feels more like nubuck leather with a slight fluff on the surface.
