So I've got a 1990 zr550 that runs well but on hot days leaks fuel from the carb's. The stock air box has been removed and replaced with pod filters. Along with the pod filters I rejetted the carb's. Is there a vent on the tank I'm forgetting to run or one that needs to be plugged? Please help, the wife yells at me every time it leaks because the garage smells like gas. Any good suggestions?

Hm. Well, first off, there should be no extra fuel entering the carbs when the bike is not running, so you may need a petcock rebuild as fuel may be leaking past the petcock. You may also want to replace the float bowl gaskets as another potential source of the leakage.

Where exactly is the fuel coming out, do you know?

It was leaking from the filters and they were getting all soggy. Turns out one of my vent lines was clogged. I drained the tank and removed it. I blew air through all the vent lines on the tank and "poof" a big cloud of dust and crap shot out of the first one I tried, probably fro
When I lined the tank. I also rebuilt the fuel filter. It's been running like a champ since then. Thanks for the tips.

Glad you got it sorted out! Yes, clogged vent lines can cause leakage, especially if the petcock is not sealing as well as it should. If you have future troubles, you may want to pull the vacuum and fuel lines from the petcock and see if fuel leaks out either fitting. That's a not uncommon problem with crud from the tank getting stuck in the diaphragm and causing leakage through the petcocok.
