Seems the UK models of Zephyr 550 have an extra wire coming from the CDI box. Oddly, it goes to the ignition switch but doesn't seem to ever get connected to anything.
If someone would be so kind as to find the gray wire on the smaller connector attached to the CDI and unhook the bullet connection that should be a little way away from the CDI connector, and see if the bike will start and run with the gray wire unhooked? I'm 99% certain it will, but wanted to confirm before I started buying up UK CDI units to sell to US customers...
